Engagement Rings- Jewelery Stores?
me and my bf have been dating for such a long time and have decided to get married, we aren’t doing the traditional proposal engagement, so we are looking for both of our rings together. We found the ones we like at Helzberg diamonds…the link to the one he likes is here

I think his is just a bit high and I think the ring i like is a bit overpriced, notice the center diamond isnt even 1ct!
Where could I find rings like this at more reasonable price, any other jewlery stores?
That price is actually pretty fair for what you are getting. A 0.6 carat centre-stone, with all those side-stones for both pieces in the bridal set is actually pretty fair. Now, the centre stone isn’t the highest quality you can get, but again, for that size and that price it is a fair deal.
My engagement ring alone cost about that, and I also have a 0.6 carat center stone. Now my centre diamond is a lot higher quality and it is a Canadian stone, but we also personally knew the jeweler that made my ring, so he kind of gave us a “family discount” and basically charge us wholesale for the stones. So for a retail store, to get that diamond, I would say that is about right, price wise.
If you want to learn more about diamonds and how the size and quality affects their price, I suggest checkout out Blue Nile’s website. They have lots of diamond education information so you can learn what makes a beautiful, sparkly diamond. Also, you can just play with their inventory search to figure out how increasing and decreasing different “C” factors will affect the price of the diamond. You can also shop around for settings on there too.

PS: Valentines day is kind of a bad time to shop for engagement rings. Jewelry stores have dollar signs in their eyes right now and the pressure to buy before the 14th will be so intense. Also, mark-ups will be at a yearly high. Something like 80% of engagement rings are bought between December and March, so buying at the high time is no way to score a deal. If you wait until the Spring or Summer, that is when you are going to be the least pressured (although it is a high-pressure type of shopping experience anyway) and be able to negotiate way better deals.
